I have to be honest that one of the main reason as to why it took me this long to create this blog is because I am terrible at naming stuff orz. I've never thought that deciding on a blog name and address could be this darn difficult.
I mean, this blog will be a part and sort of an extension of my life so I guess it's name should be really well thought of right?
And yeah, just like naming someone's child or pet or camera, it's not usually easy. And it sucks so bad that I'm really really REALLY terrible at naming stuff (wait, I've said that already, but I just need to stress that out).
Let's take our cats for example:
We have this cat named "Lambing" because...well, he is "malambing"(unfortunately there is no direct translation to English for this word, though to put it simply, "malambing" could be described as "sweet" or "smitten". hmmm... smitten kitten? *gets bricked*). Anyways, Lambing came from a litter of 7 kitties (seven!!! imagine?) and just like this blog, it kinda took some time before they were named.
sleepy kitties
During the time the kitties were born, my two sisters were into K-Pop and are huge supporters of this group (oh boy...here we go) called U-KISS. The group happen to have seven members (errr...though i heard they disbanded (?) already or changed some members?) so my sisters suggested to have the kitties named after them.
It means to say that "Lambing" used to have a different name before...and it's Korean!...which i can't even bloody pronounce! orz. Add the fact that soon after, three of the kitties from the litter got sold so that leaves us with only four "members" of the K-pop band, LOL so yah...might as well change their names to something more appropriate? and because I'm really that bad at naming, the four kitties left got tagged with the names Lambing (which I explained a while ago), Tisoy (apparently because people in the house observed that he is "the fairest of em all"), Kevin and Kiseop (yep...can't think of a name for Kevin and Kiseop, so I retained their old k-pop names). Oh and may I add this detail: KEVIN IS FEMALE! orz
Also, I'm still not sure if I pronounce Kiseop's name correctly. I also call him Kish-Kish or Kiss-Kiss sometimes (mom called him "Ketchup" once... daheck!) which makes me wonder if our cats get confused of their names, or if they're aware of what their names are in the first place.
Aside from those stated above, we also have this cat named "Tiger", a dog named "Bunny" and a bunny named "Doug". Yup...remind me to stop naming pets in the future orz.
Lambing's derp face
Ok! Enough about that! Time to get back on topic!
It really took a while for me to think of a proper blog name. I've made up a lot of possible ones but can't seem to choose the best one. It kinda made me wonder how my friends chose their blog names (and believe me, they have the coolest blog names :P). I mean, did they experience this too? Did it took them hours or days to finally pick a name and just launch their blog?. I hope not.
My current blog name just dawned upon me one boring night while surfing through TV channels. I happen to pass by Disney and it reminded me that I used to use this tagline "-From the wonderful mind of Dycee" to end my entries for my creative journal submissions during college (pre-requisite for my BS-Nursing course). Hmm... Maybe I could use that again. I changed it to "world" instead of "mind" though, just like in Disney's coz there's just a certain ring to it that I cannot seem to explain. It sounds fun and quirky which kinda speaks a lot about myself. I have to remove "From" though....erm just because? (maybe the same reason why "The" is removed from "The Facebook" for Facebook).
So I've decided! (Let's hope it's final)
I do not own this photo :P Credits to Disney
How about the blog address? I think this is the most important yes yes?
The first one I chose is "dyceecat.blogspot.com" because I want it to be simple, but then again my sister pointed out that people might assume that I will only blog about my cats if I'll use that since my FB page where I breed cats have the same name.
Out of the whim I chose "dyceelearnstoblog" because it kinda sounds like that oldschool band my brother used to listen to (ehem "Michael learns to rock" LOL) and because it's direct to the point, I mean, because indeed I am just "learning" how to blog. I have to change that when someone pointed out that there's a certain popular blogger who already got that idea and apparently have almost the same name as mine O_O. I don't really frequent the "blogosphere" yet (I'm not even sure if I used the term right) so I am not aware of it though just from the looks of it I could tell that we're wayyy too different and our topics are way different too haha. But just to avoid confusion and comparison I decided to change it to something more fitting :D
Which proved to be difficult orz
I've thought of "WordWarDycee" but then again the word "war" kinda does not match the feel of a "wonderful" world so I have to scratch that out again (I might use that on something in the future haha). My sister then suggested that I just make it simple: "Welcome to Dycee Land", just like a greeting on a Disney amusement park.
So I settled for that. For now.
Meows,
Dycee

The Story of Nancy the Goldfish
Once upon a time, me and my friends got some free goldfish (i think we were given around 8 or 9) from a Tanabata themed event at Little Tokyo. From Manila to San Jose, we traveled the lovely fishies.
Because it was during the time of the election campaign for senators, we decided to name them after some senatorial candidates.
Bad move. As we all know the lifespan of this type of goldfish is not that long.
And only Nancy Binay survived. orz.
I DO NOT own this photo of Nancy. obviously.
Naming is such a b*tch.
Let's see how long before I change my blog's name and address again into a new one =))
